As co-founder of ShareitEffect, Luke Brandley knows the value of a good recommendation. His app gives Shopify customers a simple way to recommend products directly from their shopping carts. We spoke with Luke to hear how tawk.to supports ShareitEffect’s customer service and SEO and why he recommends it to the businesses he works with every day.
1 – First of all, can you tell us a little bit about your business?
ShareitEffect is a Shopify app that helps your customers recommend your products to literally thousands of their followers.
We provide a little widget — a little badge that goes on the Shopify App Store just under the “Add to Cart” button. That badge simply states, for example, “Special offer — 10% off today.”
Then, when a customer comes to that and clicks on it, another image pops up and says, “Share on Facebook and receive 10% off on your order right now.”
They click a little button that says “Share It.” Then, it will automatically take them to their Facebook [account], where the post is already pre-generated automatically for them.
All they have to do is type something up for their followers to see — something like, “These are awesome shoes. You should get them too.”
The post includes a hashtag and content directly from the Shopify Store owner, [including] the image of the product and a URL to the website for the Shopify Store. Then, the best part is that it has an embedded link that will take the next person that sees the post directly to the product page. So this is really cool.
2 – How do you use tawk.to at ShareitEffect?
tawk.to is right on our website, so when the customer comes to our website, they can just click on the icon. Within seconds, a member of our customer support team is interacting with this customer through text, texting back and forth. They’re asking questions, we’re responding to them. So that’s how we use it. And it’s just so effective.
3 – Why did you choose to use and partner with tawk.to?
With ShareitEffect, recommendations are huge, so that’s what I was looking for. And I got a recommendation from a partner and friend that said, “Hey, take a look at tawk.to.” So I went and looked. The reviews were really good, and tawk.to is the leader in the industry. And I was just so grateful for that introduction.
4 – How do you promote tawk.to?
Oh, it’s so easy, but yet it’s really powerful. What I do is I have a little badge at the bottom of my website. It links directly to tawk.to, so that when customers come to my site and they’re interested in getting a live chat service for their businesses, because all of my customers are businesses, they click on that link and they’re taken directly to tawk.to and sign up.
5 – What benefits are you seeing?
It lets them know that we’re real, that we have real partners. And the benefit is huge that way. Plus, having that link back and forth to tawk.to really benefits us from a social media standpoint, because our app and our website now rank higher on Google because of our link and our integration with tawk.to. Our customers can see that, so it truly benefits us that way as well.
6 – What advice can you share with new partners at tawk.to?
If you’re not a partner already, you’re missing out. The people at tawk.to are very friendly, very professional and very easy to work with. The tools are just so impressive, yet really easy to use — lots of tutorials, lots of support. And it’s a huge benefit for, like I said, for my business and for the businesses that I introduce it to.
