Meir Shachar is in the business of bringing people together. As CEO of Powerlinx, he helps businesses connect through a simple B2B app that not only allows them to find customers, suppliers, and partners. It also helps them to quickly find the investors, credit and financing they need to accelerate growth. We spoke with Meir to learn how tawk.to is changing online communication for their website visitors and clients.
1 – First of all, can you tell us a little bit about your business?
Powerlinx is the leading platform for B2B matchmaking. I did a podcast for Calcalist, which is like the Wall Street Journal of Israel, and they dubbed us the Tinder for Business. And every time I have to explain to somebody what Powerlinx is all about, I say, “We’re like the Tinder for Business.” They understand that what we do is we bring two people together. Because in as much as business is done between two companies, at the end of the day, it’s two people that shake hands, two people that make it happen.
So it’s about bringing people together. We let them get to know each other and then they go on a date and hopefully they consummate something. And that’s what Powerlinx is all about — bringing people together on business opportunities.

3 – Why did you choose to use and partner with tawk.to?
Frankly, it’s a very, very simple answer: A friend recommended it because he’s using it on his site. And there’s nothing better than when a friend recommends something to you. Right? Especially if it’s somebody who’s technology savvy and he’s very much into digital communication with his clients. So once he recommended it. You know, I didn’t have to think twice or look into anybody else. And it was only afterward that I realized what a formidable company tawk.to is.
It’s kind of like the quiet giant out there. You tend to know a lot of your competitors because they make a lot more noise. 5 – What benefits are you seeing as a result of using tawk.to?
My customers are always asking questions, We are about bringing success to the people that use Powerlinx. We’re a global platform that can help people in any industry. There are 43,000 SIC codes (standard industry codes), and we help anyone and everyone, whether they have a product or service, whether it’s finished goods or raw materials along the entire supply chain from procurement and purchasing departments of divisions through sales and marketing and business development. So we felt that a tool like tawk.to could serve a lot of our customers.
Very shortly after [adopting tawk.to], we did a mailing to all of our user base to let them know that we incorporated tawk.to into our operations to ease communications with new potential users and existing members [and] to keep things swift and lightning-fast. And we recommended to them to do the same.
Because when you see something good, you want to let your friends know. You want to let the world know. Everybody should benefit from it, right?
6 – What advice can you share with new partners at tawk.to?
The advice would be incorporate it. Use it. Keep an open channel of communication with your potential customers and your existing customers, because they say the best customer is the one you already have. Right? Let them know about it.
If you can get an email out to them or some other sort of broadcast, do it. And when you put it out on social media, you let the world know that, hey, you’re one of these avant guard companies that’s using cutting-edge technology.
And cutting-edge doesn’t mean that it has to be complicated. On the contrary, there is greatness in simplicity. And if there is something that’s beautiful about tawk.to, it’s very, very simple. Okay? And that’s one of the nicest aspects about tawk.to.
