Creating articles in different languages

In this video, I’m gonna show you how you can set up the Knowledge Base in multiple languages.

So from the Knowledge Base menu on the left-hand side, you can see that we’ve created one article: “What is a rocket?” Go back to the original menu, which is where you can configure and set up your knowledge base. Just click on the Configure button on the top right-hand corner.

So, step 1 is to actually set up the knowledge base for multiple languages. So in the menu item here, Localization, click on Languages and add the languages you’d like to create your Knowledge base in. So let’s set it for Italian. Then we can create Meta Description, Heading, and Sub-Heading here, depending on language, and we can check it per language. You can also select whether you want visitors to be able to create tickets depending on the language. Once you’ve done that, click escape (x). Then click the Knowledge Base menu item on the left-hand side.

The second step is to set up categories in Italian or other languages. So click on Categories towards the top-left. And let’s say we’re gonna duplicate this article in Italian. Let’s click on the plus sign to create the category in Italian. Now, another rocket in Italian is “Razzi.” Let’s make a description “Cos’è un razzo?” in Italian. We can add an icon if we like. Once we’ve finished, click Create Category, then go back. So now we’ve created our Rocket category in English and Italian.

The third step is to create an article. So let’s say we want to create a “What is a rocket?” article in Italian. So under languages, just click the plus “+” button and select Italian. Now we can translate our article. “What is a rocket?” translates to … We can also take the section of the article here. Then we can add up our paragraph and you can just keep going and build your article. Once you’ve done that, the category that should be selected is Rockets in Italian: “Razzi”. The language Italian was selected all through. And now we’ll publish our article.

Now, in our Help Center, we can see at the top here we can either select English or Italian. You’ve got an option to submit the ticket here, we’ve got our category Rocket or Razzi, and then we’ve got our article in here. As easy as that!
