As part of our screening process, we check to make sure all Virtual Assistants have adequate backup solutions for cases of power and/or internet outage.
These solutions may include a charged laptop, a power bank, or 3G/4G backup they can use. Some VAs even have their own generator that will kick in in the event of a power failure.
Occasionally in the Philippines, emergency weather conditions and cataclysmic events such as typhoons or earthquakes may occur and backup options may be unavailable. In these cases, we will look at the hours the VAs were not able to work. We will then work with you to coordinate a time they can make up these hours.
Unfortunately, severe weather is part of life in the Philippines. It’s important to remember that the only setback we experience is that the Virtual Assistant is unable to work. They’re in a much worse situation and may be dealing with the destruction of property or losing loved ones.
